I like hugs.
Both receiving and giving.
A hug isn't sensual or sexual. That perhaps is a cuddle. Though hugs can turn into cuddles which in turn can ...
But a hug is there to be reassuring, to offer comfort and friendship. It offers physical and emotional warmth. The fact it is non-sexual can help bring trust. The ability to hold someone close for comfort without ulterior motives.
A correspondent some time ago wrote to me comparing bondage with a hug in a delightfully sensual way,
“It’s like a hug that you can’t get out of, an insistent embrace that won’t fail and won’t be denied.”
I know bondage, particularly predicament bondage, can be uncomfortable, painful even, and challenging. It can also emphasise vulnerability and acceptance of control.
However I liked this comforting description of bondage as being in an embrace. I wonder if others ever find it so?

I am never reminded of a hug when I'm bound. I know there will be something coming from the Sadist that may very well hurt me... in a way that I'll eventually like , quite a lot.
Now he does hug me a lot when I am unbound..and I know what those hugs are all about!
Thanks Nancy.
I guess it may only be a few who feel bondage is like a hug!
Enjoy instead your hugs when unbound.

I love hugs. melinda and I thrive on them. The hug you can't get away from we call "vice hug". I love to squeeze her against me. Better even if she is naked.
At least, with the experiences I've had as a submissive, I do find there to be a parallel with the effects of a hug and bondage. Your post reminded me of the studies with 'hugging machines' and helping people with Autism, as well as the chutes which cows go through before slaughter, the tightness relaxing their central nervous systems. Now, while these might not leave such pleasant associations in the mind as a hug, it does remind one of the place bondage has in releasing naturally healing elements in the mammalian nervous system. I've struggled with anxiety issues in the past, and could never understand why bondage and submission really turned me on...I think I was self medicating. My body craved what it really needed.
Thanks Jenny for your fascinating comment. There clearly is a need for hugs and it is interesting how you have brought together a few different things that may have a similar effect to hugs - bondage being just one of them.
I'm with you Elder - I love hugs! And naked hugs? Well ....

O yes.
I feel it like that, often. It makes me feel - held, and isn't that what a hug is - being held? Even suspension bondage had an element of that, but a rope halter absolutely does.
Even as the rope is wrapped around me, it's like an embrace i think.
Thanks for an interesting post.

I had not thought of bondage before as being like a hug but now that you have brought it up, I can definitely see that. Thanks for the insight.
